Jennifer and Jim kept getting huge water bills. They knew beyond doubt that the bills weren't representative of their actual usage, and no matter how they tried to conserve, the high bills continued. although they could see nothing wrong, they had everything checked for leaks or problems: first the water meter, then outdoor pipes, indoor pipes, underground pipes, faucets, toilets, washer, ice maker, etc. -- all to no avail. One day Jim was sick and stayed home in bed, but kept hearing water running downstairs.
He finally tore himself from his sick bed to investigate, and stumbled onto the cause of such high water bills. Apparently this was happening all day long when they were not at home. Knowing that few would believe him,he taped a segment of the 'problem' for posterity --

Ok well, Vista will be the front runner in IPv6. Something we've all been waiting around for a while. As compact flash and SDCards continue to get smaller and with more storage space, it won't be long before harddrives are replaced with them. No more whirlling, and creaking, and spinning..
Engergy consumption has dropped considerably. As a matter of fact, the engery peak was in 2005. Now that most offices and homes are using LCD screens and tvs, no more CRTs and picture tubes. Although plasma screens use 10 times more power than an conventional tv.
Rental stores like blockbuster will be a thing of the past. Instead there will be a block buster channel on your digtal cable or dish system. You can rent any movie the moment it's released and watch it in the convience of your own home. Or, pay a little extra and you can DVR it and watch it when ever you want. And DVR's will come with DVD bunners right on them and WIfi access so you can access your DVR's harddrive right from any pc in your home or upload your own creation to your tvs.
Picture frames will also be a thing of the past. Instead youll have electronic photo frames. An LCD screen that will grab the photos from your my documents and flash them up there. Or you can subscribe to other people's gallerys and share photos. Like one frame for all the current photo's of your nephew uploaded by your sister 10 states away.
Well.. the save the date cards have all been sent now. Wedding rings have been purchaced, invitations have been purchased. House has been purcahsed. It's all starting to come together now. I'm excited that it's getting closer, but i'm also nervous about all the unknowns. I'm so used to spending all day with Patti and the kids, but i always get to go home at the end of the day. I've always had that place to go and unwind from everything, i can turn up my music, walk around in my underwear, lay on the carpet with ozzie, i could leave all the toilet seats up... and no one could complain.
wednesday i woke up with this horribly sore throat. went to work that day but by thursday i was a mess. sore throat, couldn't talk, stuff comming out of my nose.. yeah it was grose. by mid-day i was feeilng a bit better. patti brought over some flu stuff and made lunch. but by the evening it wore off and i was feeling bad again. yesterday was much the same. today i just feel worn out. tired. but better. i have come to realize that daytime television really stinks. old ER reruns are about the only thing worth watching.
what else has been going on.... Patti got a car. Her old one finally gave up the ghost so she got an expidition. Hannah and I built a computer for her. Kind of stinks that she's got this really cool Duo-core processor with 2 gig's of ram and all the fixings, and i'm still using this old pentium.
Regarding the wedding, we got the invitations and rings ordered. things are really comming together. i'm excited that there isn't to much left on my to-do list. it's all comming together. but all the planning in the world doesn't compare to the excitment i have with the thought of getting to spend the rest of my life with patti. That's the biggest thrill of it all. The saddest part of my day is when i have to leave to go home. only 90 some my days.
Ok so we had this St. Jude radiothon last week. An order was put with Verizon back in december for the lines we would need. Well.. the day before the event and they still hadn't shown up. Finally i went to the demark and found all the lines they had turned up but not tagged yet so i just termed them all myself. they finally showed up at like 4pm, and the lady on the phone said they were sorry, all the snow in our area had them backed up.
i've setup so many this past few days. it seams like everyone is buying a new one. i'm working on one right now that is really slick and fast. then i go home to my old laptop. i mean 5 years ago it was awesome.. and it's still in good shape.. it's just old 🙁
And then today i was working on installing some new lines for ktex when i noticed that there was something wired up really wierd. What ever engineer put this building together obviously took the easy route. so i'm having to find a way to undo what's done and redo it right. but at least now i have a better understanding of what there thinking (or lack of) was like back then.
I'm not all that sure but isn't this a violation of man-law somewhere?
I mean, guys are not sopoused to talk in the bathroom, and i guess they aren't doing the talking in this case, but still. Is it ethical?
Ah…Valentine's Day. It’s a time to celebrate love…to show someone special how much you really care…to declare for all the world to see that your heart belongs to your one and only.
But more than anything…it’s a sham, a scam and a slap in the face to real romance.
Sure, the recognition of Valentimes Day goes back hundreds of years, but it wasn’t until the early part of the 20th century that the “celeberating
thursday after work had to go to the funeral home in mission, then pratice for the youth valenties thing. friday had to go to the civic center after work. did that pratice, john bevere going on at church as well. saturday morning had to go to the vet's to fix there network. they had a problem printing. ended up being there network of all things. the cat5 patch had a broken pin 6. so there software was being very sluggish because it was running off a network share.. that was broken. replaced the hub (an old 10speed with BNC (thin-net)) on it. Put in a new 10/100 auto sensing switch. also replaced the patch.. all was better. I had actually been thinking about that network. I installed it about 3 years ago. It was nice to get to see it again. After that had to go to the mall to pick up a gift, than to the civic center for rehersal again. than from there to church to put on the valentines program. that turned out really well by the way. Really well. everything worked perfectly. After that Johathon and Eva came over to patti's new house for a while. this morning church, after this i have to go put on that show at the civic center. that should be done at 4, than Riley is having a birthday so going to go do that, than megan's birthday is today too so going to take her out to dinner. than sometime this weekend maybe i can rest too. i haven't gotten to spend much time with ozzie at all. only the mornings when he's waking me up. i miss him.
