That's how one website described Eagle Pass. A story came out about how two major media outlets never aired warnings about the tornodos that killed 10 people and destoryed many homes. One of them was some mexican station and the other was Time Warner Cable. Well.. time warner i can understand their own stupidity. but in reality, the FCC only requires stations to us to air weekly and montly test and messages from the whitehouse. everything else is optional. however though, in a case like eagle pass, these stations that didnt' send the duck farts may face scrunty for not informing the pubic, but weather alerts and civil alerts are all optional. That being said, i have programmed many alerts on all of our stations to be ignored like marine costal warnings, and flash floods, and other frequent/annoying alerts but i do let others like hurricanes and tornnadoes pass through. i better double check that to make sure now that i think about it.
i had alot of hopes and dreams of what i wanted to get done this week. Thursday i was all happy because i would get to sleep in a bit. the broadcast was at the mcdonalds in mcallen. but as i'm going through stuff i realized that i left the broadcast equiptment in the office. so i could either wake up earlier friday and pick up the stuff or get it now. so thursday night guy and i went to weslaco to pick up the stuff. after that we swung by the new taco cabana. i was in the mood for some healthy food so i had a taco salad. when i woke up in the morning at 4:30 my stomach was not happy at all. i thought i could make it out the door without any problem but i got to see my dinner again. i went on the the remote and that went ok.. but afterwards i went to take a quick nap that ended up taking the rest of the day. saturday morning we had angel food. marshall and tracy were out of town but everything was going very smoothly. it seams like everything was getting done alot sooner. after that we took krik and cheryl out to lunch and then we had elanine holmer that afternoon. than today had church, patti was directing so i got on one of the floor cameras and got to work with her. i love it when i get to work with her because she comes up with some of the greatest shots. (she's so wonderfull) than i was going to finally take a nap but Hannah had gotten a gift card for the new Build-a-bear place and tori needed some jeans so i took them out to the mall. when we finally got to patti's house i got to hang out for a while and rest but now we're back at church doing elaine again. ok.. maybe tommrow i can sleep?
Would you believe it's been a week since the old site crashed? And i'm still trying to get everything back to normal. The photo gallery is not 100% yet, but it's coming together. At mcdonals this morning doing the morning show so i'll probably try to get it all back now.
wow.. that was really scary. Ok.. well Saturday night Guy and I were running new CAT 5 in Patti's house. We were running near an outlet so i wanted to kill the power to the outlet.. but it took some searching to find the outlet. In the searching one of the servers ended up getting shut off. I noticed later that night that the server was off. So it tried to power it back up. ended up having to remove the power to the main powersupply and then restarting. But then it would boot, the ip would turn on, and then reboot. over and over. So i took it home removed the HD and plugged it in another server. Found alot of CRC errors. I pulled off all the files i could off of it but there were still some that were unrecoverable. My first priority was the SQL databases. I finally got them all recovered and now i'm restoring. The comments to this website are however missing the newer stuff. So feel free to leave more comments to restore anything lost. Now i'm going to work on the gallery. Should have that up next.
A new recorded voice this time. Very energetic but still in spanish. Talked about being eligible for a trip for 4 to Disney land. I pressed 1 just to get to talk to a human. The person said her name and asked who i was, i told her "this is john" and she said, "wrong number" and hung up.
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers are barred from calling consumers on their cell phones without their consent.
Coming south on 281, Exit on Trenton Rd. Head west until you reach McColl. Head North and the church will be on the east side of the road. Abundant Grace is on the corner of Freddy Gonzales and McColl next to HEB.
Patti addressed the envelopes this past week and they should be in the mail today. Hopefully we got all the addresses right. I don't think any of them came back from the save the date cards so I figure everything's cool.

Let's see.. what else is in there. Oh yes, the most important. The RSVP Card. We met with the caterer Saturday and picked out the meal. You guys are going to enjoy it. We tried several different ones and they were all good, but this one that we picked was really good. So if you want to be sure and get to enjoy this meal, please RSVP. Also the dinner is BEFORE the actuall ceremony. So even if your not planning on eating, you'll want somewhere to sit. Everyone who RSVP's will be given preferred seating. Stragglers may be left in the nose-bleed section. You can also RSVP by email. The address to send your email to is included on the RSVP Card.
