Patti and I went here Wednesday to check it out. We'd heard many comments about it. Mostly about the wait and the quality of the service, but I figured we'd check it out for ourselves. The wait wasn't that long. Maybe 10 minutes. Our hostess was pleasant and our waitress was attentive up until we got our food. After that we didn't see much of her. Even when we were ready to pay and needed some boxes it took a while to find her. I ordered the Herb Salmon and Patti had the lasagna. Both our dishes were not the quality you'd expect to find from Olive Garden. My salmon was dry and cold. I even found a friend who was a waiter there. Dennis Garza. He even commented on how dry the food looked.
Glenn Beck started the day discussing the immigration bill with a Senator that seems to actually make sense on it - Senator DeMint from South Carolina. (Read the transcript).
Here's what the Senator said that led to the interview:
"There is a better way forward that ends the status quo of amnesty and empty security promises. The President can enforce the laws we have already passed to strengthen the border and workplace enforcement. Once Americans regain trust in their government and believe we really have the will to solve this problem, we can begin to look at the other pieces of the puzzle. It's time to stop holding national security hostage for amnesty. We need to address first things first."
Don't forget to call your Senator and let them know how you feel about the Immigration Bill. The Capitol Switchboard number is: (202) 224-3121, call and ask to speak with your representative.
Also, a commercial message from apparently a new Amnesty group that you won't want to miss. Free Audio: listen here.
I have to admit, i never took much time to get to know Fae. I knew she was around but we never associated much. Quite honestly, it wasn't until yesterday that i actually found out how social she really was. She would get up on Megan's shoulder, she would talk to her, she would talk back. In the 4 months that the got to spend together they really bonded. I know that words can't make the pain of losing someone any better- but we can always remember the times that you had together.
Another year... Hannah you've really grown up these past few years. I still remembe when you were in a stroller with your blanket. Now your taller than your mom and planning a mission trip to mexico. you've matured into a beautifull young lady. Your extreamly bright and intuituve. You really give me a run for my money when it comes to computers. and you can even beat me in swiming races. but i'm still older so ptttthhh.4665
The right hand side of this blog now is displaying upcoming events. it's an iCal feed from my outlook. That ical feed is supposed to update every time I update it. You can also see the feed directly here. So then i import it into Google's calendar service. I then export that iCal's feed. Then import that back into this site. Why don't i just import my outlook feed directly into my website? Well.. for some reason it isn't accepting all the code directly. not sure if Microsoft changes stuff but google's seams to be able to convert it. But yet even through all that. some of the events are not showing up. still testing to figure out why my calendar is usually allot more full that what's showing up.
I left work early yesterday for a dentist appointment. I have this tooth that has been sensitive to biting with. So I went by the house to wait for 3 and Patti called while i was there. Megan had been in an accident. She wasn't hurt but the car didn't seam to to be that well off. I went by to check on them and it really wasn't bad. it's seen much worse. 4634
So i went off to the dentist appointment. This is the same office that i fixed there computers way back when. it was the first time i had ever seen a crossover cable network two computers across cat5. So i fill out all the paperwork for the first time patients. I swear i must have written the exact same information at least 5 times on 3 different forms. Literally one was a small card asking for name and all that stuff... the 2nd was another reg. form asking for the same information.. anyway. so i finally get in and the hallway had lots of exam rooms. quite an improvement from the other time over at nolana dental. But as i walk in the room first thing i notice is that the doorway is much more narrow than a normal door. The far wall has one of those wallpaper murals from like the 1960's. My grandpa used to have one of these in his office. The dentist chair was antique. as well as the tools and instruments. ok.. I'm starting to get uneasy. and i'm running out of dentist on my plan. so i'm reclined in this chair facing this mural and the door way is behind me. then i hear this voice of what must be the dentist. he ends up being a pretty cool guy. much more personable than the first dentist i visited. So anyway. long story short, this tooth problem is due is going to require some extractions. why do all the dentist want my wisdom teeth? well.. i think i actually got an answer i can be satisfied with. So i'm going to actually get it done now. *sigh*
paula called last night, said that mom was in the hospital. she hadn't been feeling well so they took her in and they were running test today to see what was wrong. Patti and I went over this morning to see her. When we got there she was in radiation so we hung out with dad for a while. when she finally got there you could tell she looked week but in good sprits. i didn't want to keep her from resting so we didn't stick around too long. probably going to go by after work and check up on her again.
