i think i hurt my toe

i was chasing a stray cat out of the back yard, slipped off the cement and bang up my foot somehow.  pretty good scrapes but my swolen “ring toe” is starting to bother me.  i’ve never broken a bone and don’t plan to start now.

and hannah has a 101 degree fever. just not a good night for patti tonight

— AM update —

Well, i woke up and it was still sore but not as painfull as lastnight.  i tried touching it and that didn’t hurt at all.  i was able to move it.  when i looked at it under the light though it was really brusied but at least not broken.

Hannah’s fever broke sometime last night.  Hopefully that was the worst of it.  now back to work.

The founder of the weather channel, John Coleman, posted this blog (that was picked up by Drudge) calling global warming ‘the greatest scam in history’.  Coleman has received tons of positive email response. This was, however, his first big ‘outing’ of himself as a global warming skeptic, so let the countdown begin to the attempts at discrediting him. John talked with Glenn Beck about his sudden moment in the national spotlight. Read the transcript.

4047from san isidro?  not a chance.  it’s wierd to run into people who’ve lived in the city their entire life, and want nothing more than to retire somewhere out in the ranch.  i can see the things they admire about it.  the solitude is amazing.  but that’s about it.  the people out there are so bored that most of them have a past time of finding out what everyone else is doing and letting everyone one else know.  you know the song, “i want to go where everyone knows your name”  yeah, well.. that’s not always all it’s cracked up to be.  I think that’s one of the things that i love the most about living in civilization.  you can walk into a store or something and not have to worry about how you look or what your wearing.. cause no body knows you .. and no one cares.  out there, they make a big deal out of nothing.  sometimes you just feel like saying to them, get a life.

if anyone from out there is reading this they are probably wondering, what someone must have done.  actually nothing.  i haven’t been out there in a while so i haven’t had to put up with that culture in a while.  I was talking with Juan Ramierez yesterday.  he was out there for the golf tournament  and we got to talk for a while.  He asked if i had been to the ranch and the more i thought of it, i realized that it’s been a while.  I love getting to go see my parents and the rest of my family that’s out there.e  well. i guess there is some family that i could probably be just a fine not seeing, but we don’t go out there to visit them.  They did get invited to the wedding though, and they came too.  and that’s fine.  i mean Patti and I thought about not inviting some of them.. but we weren’t going to stoop down to there level so we invited them.  Didn’t expect them to come.  but what do you know.. some of them came.  oh well.. hopefully they were able to get some of the message from the ceremony.  I got to see Olga Soto last week and she was talking about the ceremony and about the people that showed up.  it was kind of a reminder for me.  i mean even thought it was 5 months ago, it seams like it’s been longer.  So i got back on the photo gallery and added more pictures from the wedding.  still have to tag them and fix them up a bit… but i’ll get that done later tonight.

what was the point of all that.. i forget.

6034today was the Clay Walker golf tournament. 6044 Jojo and Patches were going to be doing the morning show live from the golf course at 6 am, so i had to be there at 5:30, so i had to be up at 5.  Patti came with me and helped me setup as well as help with things there.  I have to admit, i’m not much of a golf person but i learned alot.  like what mullets are and what these things are.  6038

around 9 they picked up and took the show on the road via golfcart.

6050605960536065 i wired up the cart, patches drove around with one hand, holding the mic with the other.  patti and i followed behind them.  we even met up with Clay and had a blast hanging out with him.  He’s such a cool artist.  you almost have to stop and remember that hey, this is the star of the whole show.  He was on a team with Tim Smith and Marc Dopher.  6062At 10 when the show was over, we packed up.  came home.. took a nap, then headed over to the arena to setup for chris’s show from out there.  now.. i’m pooped.

being married

and it’s not so much being married, as it is being married to someone i love as much as i love my wife.  She is the most amazing person in my life.  I love the way she compliments what i do.  I love the way she encourages me and is always looking for ways to show her affection.  This morning i was thinking about waking up, she was already awake.  She got the kids up and then came and crawled in my side of the bed.  Just wrapped her arms around me and snuggled for a while.  That was so nice.  nothing extravant, nothing expensive.. just spending a moment in eachother arms before we headed off to another day.  Ozzie even joined in and got on the bed with us.

It’s just so nice being married to Patti.  She’s a gift from God and i want her to know just how much i appericate her and everything she does for me.  I love you sweetheart.

Patti CarvingFor the first time in who knows how many years, i actually got to stay home for Halloween.  I didn’t go to the normal church festivities.  I actually stayed home with my wife (that’s sounds so cool to say) and hand out candy to the kids in our new neighborhood.  I don’t think I’ve handed out candy since i lived at the ranch.  and even then, poor guys traveled so far to get to the house you felt sorry for them and offered them anything you had.  Here, have some left over chicken.   Patti and the girls even carved out pumpkins and displayed them in front of the house.
