Police identify man shot at Marqu*e Entertainment Complex

Police have identified the man who was was shot to death outside of an entertainment center in West Houston on Wednesday night.

Police said the man was shot in the parking lot closest to the Drink Houston nightclub.

The victim was 25-year-old Michael Gutierrez.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. at the Marqu*e Entertainment Complex on the Katy Freeway at Silber.

According to the Houston Police Department, Gutierrez was on his way to meet a friend for dinner and drinks.

Witnesses told police they heard a single gunshot and then saw a dark blue or black four-door mid-sized sedan leaving the scene.

Officials said he was shot once in the back. Witnesses said Gutierrez ran a short distance and then collapsed.

It happened in the section of the parking lot closest to the Drink Houston nightclub.

When paramedics arrived they tried to revive him, but he was already dead.

Police are looking for witnesses who saw Gutierrez being shot. The witnesses they spoke with Wednesday night apparently only heard the shot and saw the him fall to the ground.
